We have a tortoise in our
classroom!! Esio Trot was a Teacher Appreciation Day present for me back in 2003. He is 34+ years old and is a
Golden Greek Dwarf Tortoise. His name comes from the book
Esio Trot
by Roald Dahl and is "Tortoise" spelled backward.
Esio Trot's favorite
thing to do is go outside (when it's warm) and bask in the sun and
eat clover. It's like going to Old Country Buffet
for him!!
Sometimes Esio Trot gets
sand in his eyes and we have to remove it very carefully.
Esio Trot loves to soak
in his water and absolutely loves his daily soaks in our sink!!
