What should I do when my
child is sick? |
The most
important thing is for your child to get better. I do not send
home work for a sick child. If your child is too sick to
come to school, they're too sick to do school work. When your child
comes back to school I will give them the missed assignments from my
class and they will have two days (for each day out) to finish the
work. (If they miss two days, they have four days to make up the
work.) |

We're going on a
vacation, can you put together a packet of work for my child to
complete while we're gone? |
I don't put together
packets for vacations. The best thing would be for you to take some
flash cards, books, and a camera with you. Take some pictures and
have your child put together a collage of their favorite parts of
the trip to share with the class. Reading is the best way to pass
the time in the car, and flash cards on the states and capitals,
multiplication, and division will help reinforce their facts! Maybe
have your child write in a journal everyday about the places
visited. |

Can I bring in
cupcakes/brownies/pizza for my child's birthday? |
Wake County does not
allow parties for birthdays. You are welcome to buy a copy of your child's favorite book and
donate it in their honor to the classroom library where it'll have a
long-lasting effect.
I also ask
that in the month of your child's birthday that you send in the
following items for the classroom:

-One paper
towel roll.

-One box of
tissues.
|

-Snack for
the class (box of Goldfish, Ritz crackers, or something like that).
|
|
|
- One bottle
of hand sanitizer (we do have the tortoise).

Do you send home
Scholastic Book Orders?

I try to send home a book order at least once a month. You are not
obligated to buy anything, however, there are always some really
good deals in the book orders. It's much cheaper to buy from the
book order, than to buy at Borders, Barnes and Noble, K-Mart,
Wal-Mart, or Target. |

What's the best way to
contact you? |
I prefer either a note
sent to school or e-mail. If you choose to call, please know that I
will not be able to return your call until the end of the day (at
the earliest) and possibly not until the next day. I am
only able to check my e-mail a few times during the day, so keep
that in mind when trying to get important information to me. |

between 8am and 5pm? |

I usually check my e-mail
once I get home from school. You can contact me at home by using my
grade4teacher@gmail.com
account. It is ALWAYS best to also send the email to my school
account (in case I am not able to check my email at home). |

Where should I email you
on the weekend? |
Please do not email me
during the weekend unless it's an emergency. I do NOT check my Wake
County email during the weekend, and cannot promise that I will
check/respond to email sent to my
grade4teacher@gmail.com account. |
