The Mini-Society instructional system is a self-organizing, experience-based approach to teaching youngsters about entrepreneurship, economics, government, career options, consumer issues, and values clarification.

The experiential path to learning- a natural route. A highly motivating instructional system, the Mini-Society encourages independent, creative, self-directed inquiry learning by the students with guidance by the teacher. Mini-Society has produced dramatic success in classrooms across the country. The students in these classes represent a full range of ability levels, geographical areas and socioeconomic groups. The common element in the attainment of impressive cognitive and affective results was the use of the specific experiential approach that Mini-Society represents.

Mini-Society will last one marking period (usually the 4th) and will involve ALL students. We will have town hall meetings to debrief and discuss various issues, and we'll elect a mayor to lead these meetings. There will be an opportunity for various students to take on leadership roles during Mini-Society, but most students will make their money by providing a good or service.
